Kootenay Granite opened in Cranbrook’s industrial park in 2007, and in 2012 moved to our present, larger facility at the east end of Cranbrook’s commercial strip on Highway 3. Kootenay Granite is owned by Rick Klassen, a Kootenay-born businessman.
Our full team of highly trained professionals includes design consultants, sales personnel and in-house trained fabricators and installers.
The raw product — granite, marble and quartzite, mostly — is imported from Italy, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, India and Africa.
“We work with high-quality raw materials to create a high-quality end product,” Klassen said, “and we train our people in-house, with the best, highest-tech equipment and techniques available for cutting and installing natural stone.”
Kootenay Granite’s technicians are equipped with:
Technology and training ensure a customized product, minimum waste and a labour output that is far less than it was a few tech-generations ago. These advances result in a timely turn-around, and the cost savings are reflected in our prices.
“We are fine fabricators and installers,” says Klassen. “We do the job from start to finish: we carry the raw product, we fabricate and we install. You get a straight story from us, and we do good work. Our goal is to exceed your expectations.”
